Yum Yum Boy: Kai Ford

I've been meaning to make this new cutie one of my Boys of the Moment, but I never came around to it. I met Kai Ford back in February at the GAYVN award show in San Francisco. Since then, I've found out that he actually went to high school with Lex Sabre, one of my best friends in the industry. Just a few days after we all met, a director we all knew contacted us and told us that Lex and Kai would be scheduled to work with eachother in a film a few weeks later. For the life of me, I don't remember which movie that is or when it was or will be released, but I can tell everyone that he appears in such films as Falcon's Winter Heat and Afterparty, appearing in a scene in the latter film with a good friend of mine whom everyone knows as Erik Rhodes. Kai also appears in Paging Dr. Finger in a foursome with another good friend of mine, Trevor Knight, and finally in a scene with Mason Wyler (whom I have a huge crush on) in the Steven Scarborough film for Hot House titled Trunks 5. This boy seems to be getting everywhere which makes him all the more deserving of the next Yum Yum Boy of FranklyGay.com. I realize that Labor Day Weekend also happens to be Southern Decadence in New Orleans like it is every year, but if you're stuck on the West Coast during that weekend, you might as well make your way over to San Francisco to the Sanctuary party where Vinnie D'Angelo and Kai will be appaearing live on-stage. And if you do plan on going, don't forget to make your way to Fresh, the pre-party, to catch Kai go-go dancing earlier on in the day.

Gay Marriage Legalized In California

Have you heard the news? Have you? Have you? It's been the talk of the town today. I was actually at work cateloguing and organizing inventory in the back office when my co-worker came in squealing his head off in joy (and he's not even gay... actually he's uber-gay, and I say that with love). Since then, I've been getting marriage proposals right and left.

It's finally happened: California has become the second state to recognize marriage equality for same-sex couples. Once I found out, the long line of lesbians in denim short-shorts and wedding veils clutching to husky women wearing oddly hanging tuxedo jackets over their lovely pilling flannel shirts at City Hall made much more sense. Next thing you know, this column is going to be the gay adult version of the wedding section of the NY Times.

Now... the real question is, in the tradition of Amy Tam's famous novel Joy Luck Club, who shall I be number one wife to? Or if we're really going with tradition here, number three wife. I have a few people in mind... Can you guess what they do for a living?

It's been a while since I've updated this blog, but some crazy shit has been happenning lately. "What happened?" you ask. Well, I got another job. I'm now a sales associate at a hip store somewhere in the Los Angeles area where I'm actually being taught fashion merchandising and all that good stuff that will prepare me for fashion design school in New York (yes, I'm one of those fags who wants to become a designer). I've been working a lot of crazy hours, so I haven't really been able to write anything in a long while. Sorry, y'all.
