Smoothing a Few Ruffled Phoenix Feathers

Some people have lapses in judgments, others are unintentionally ambiguous. Which is the case here?... I have no idea. Only a few weeks ago, Jason Sechrest (of JasonCurious.com) made a questionable comment on his blog and many other affiliates including Gay.com, Odyssey Magazine, and Porn Confidential (us):

"Well, it's a good thing they agreed to letting him go!Because from what I'd heard, Phoenix had already been quietly shooting with other companies for the past month or so."

On behalf of Damon Phoenix, both Jeremy Spencer and David Forest have sent e-mails to Jason Sechrest requesting a retraction IF the comment suggested any foul play on Damon Phoenix’s part. Jason replied that he WAS NOT suggesting that quietly referred to any betrayal by Damon towards Adonis. Jason replied that the word quietly, instead, was used to reference the studios act of refraining from releasing the names of models being used in those aforementioned projects. Technically, then, all models in those projects were quietly shooting. I can’t honestly say I know what Jason meant or not. He may be a dear friend of mine, but I can’t get into his head anymore than I can get into my own. Either way, David Forest, in an e-mail he sent to both Damon and Jeremy Spencer, believes Jason will do whatever is right; in that e-mail, he did call Jason “family” after all, and I know many people view all four of these people in the same manner.

Whatever the intentions were behind Jason’s comment were, the ambiguity of the wording does require that some clarification be made, and as a friend of them all, I’ve offered to do so. So, here’s everything explained:

As a long time friend of Damon Phoenix and the Adonis Family, I know for a fact that Damon was not involved in any foul play whatsoever. As pertaining to the aforementioned projects that Damon was involved with while still a contract exclusive for Adonis, Damon had always asked for permission from Jeremy before participating in any project. Damon has also complied with Adonis’ conditions. Here’s an actual excerpt from Jeremy’s actual e-mail to Jason Sechrest:

"Not only did Damon have my permission to work with those other companies, he had my blessing. Adonis wasn't doing anything at the time and the boy has to make money, right? So he came to me every time and asked permission - my only stipulations were that he get paid his rate and that he be billed as an Adonis Exclusive."

I have known Damon for well over a year now, and we’ve bonded as best friends do. Damon has always been an upfront and honest person. Not only is he playful and sexy, he’s exceptionally considerate and honest. He is not only an amazing Adult Film Model, he’s a wonderful human being, and that is the truth.

Show your support or thoughts by messaging Damon Phoenix through his MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/damon_phoenix. Ummm... some (only some) of you may want to ignore the music if it “ain’t your cup o’ tea.” To learn more about him, you may also go to http://www.DamonPhoenix.com.

Sex Pays, Love Costs: The Los Angeles Boy Culture Release Party

I may not be an angel myself, but I can certainly recognize one when I see it. Last night, Angel Benton was the host of the RentBoy.com sponsored release party for the soon to be debuting movie Boy Culture. There’s been a great deal of buzz going around about this movie. Not only has it won over half a dozen film festival awards including the Best of the Fest award at the London International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, but it’s received critical acclaim from many sectors of the gay oriented entertainment world:

"Engaging, deliciously directed and, most winningly, downright sexy!" – Mark
James, Gay.com

"Q. Allan Brocka’s sexy, smart and deliciously funny
follow-up to Eating Out, introduces us to a uniquely queer family." – David
Courier, Outfest, LA

Every movie would be so lucky to have Brandon Baker of RentBoy.com organizing their release party. Not only was Micky’s of West Hollywood packed, but the event went off without a single hitch. Enticing previews were playing at every corner f the bar while large flyers and post cards with the movie cover lined the walls and tables while Ginch Gonch underwear models danced around the bar featuring the specially made Boy Culture Ginch Gonch briefs thrown out into the crowd by none other than the two most popular Ginch Gonch models: Benjamin Bradley and Ethan Reynolds of ProjectBE.

Not only were Ben and Ethan wearing the limited edition Boy Culture Ginch Gonch briefs, they spent time talking to almost everyone at the party while walking around in just those briefs, a pair of sox and shoes. I have to say that not only did they look magnificent as always, but they smelled deliciously like cotton candy. My stomach was actually growling. They will actually be in Los Angeles making appearances until Friday. Thursday night, they will be at Bed Behavior (6507 Hollywood Blvd., 90028) at 6:30 PM; at 8:00 PM that same day, they will be at The Pleasure Chest (7733 Santa Monica Blvd., 90046); and on Friday at 6:00 PM, they will be appearing at Brick and Mortar (8350 Santa Monica Blvd., 90046).

Anyway, at the release party, on stage was Angel Benton (of AngelBenton.com), a rising virgin angel who has yet to fall. Adorned in a crisp clean red dress shirt enticingly buttoned up only half way while the color contrasted perfectly with his golden hair, one of his trademark symbols, he introduced one of the three main actors in the Boy Culture film, Jonathan Trent who stars as Joey in the film. He is a fast rising star who has acted in other recent movies including Smile and Love is the Drug. Not only is he cute and boyish, but you actually get to see some very cute parts of him within the movie, from what I understand. While he was on stage being interviewed by Angel, he was passing out other free giveaways to the crowd including copies of TLA Releasing’s The Longing, a film by Jürgen Brüning, coupons to GayHotMovies.com and a few select free movie passes to go see Boy Culture on the day of its premiere in West Hollywood at the Laemmle Sunset 5 theatre.

I’m sure you actually want to know a little bit about this film before you go see it. The script was adapted from Matthew Rattenmund’s novel of the same name. It is the story of “X” (Derek Magyar), a high end escort, and his two roommates Andrew (Darryl Stephens) and Joey (Jonathan Trent), who together have created a family for the twenty-first century. After ten years of sex-for-pay, “X” gets romantically entangled with his two hot roommates and a reclusive elderly client, Gregory. But before Gregory will agree to sex, he tells an unsetting love story spanning fifty years and dares “X” to try something he hasn't felt for years: emotion. Boy Culture takes on issues of sexual mores and emotional risk with a witty and incisive voice, revealing the leap of faith that love demands.
